Quandoo has closed: what restaurants should do now
Quandoo has ceased operations. What was announced, which deadlines run until 31 December 2026 and how to move reservations, guest data and links.

Quandoo has ceased operations. If your restaurant took reservations through Quandoo, do three things now: secure future reservations and guest data, set up a reservation system of your own on your website, and replace every link that still points to Quandoo. This article first shows what exactly was announced and then the steps in order of urgency.
What did Quandoo announce, and by when?
On 11 October 2026 the German site quandoo.de carries a notice headed “Ein wichtiges Update zu den Quandoo-Diensten”. In translation it reads: following the decision to cease operations, Quandoo has now completed its planned and orderly closure; our platform is no longer available. For questions about future bookings or outstanding loyalty cashback payouts Quandoo gives the address [email protected] and asks to be contacted by 31 December 2026 at the latest. The footer reads Quandoo GmbH i.L., meaning in liquidation.
The details come from the announcement in spring. The trade site Tageskarte reported on 1 April 2026, citing Quandoo's own statement:
| What | Status according to the report of 1 April 2026 |
|---|---|
| Markets affected | all markets worldwide in which the platform was active |
| New reservations | until 30 September 2026 |
| Services for diners | discontinued from 1 October 2026 |
| Contracts with restaurants | end automatically on 30 September 2026, no notice needed |
| Export of reservation data and guest lists | until 31 December 2026 |
| Switch-off of website, app and infrastructure | planned for 31 December 2026 |
| Reason | a business decision, no further details |
The public page already describes the platform as no longer available. Check straight away whether your restaurant login and the export still work. If not, write to the address given, and do not leave it until December.
What should you secure first?
- All reservations from today onwards: date, time, party size, name, phone, email, notes such as allergies or a high chair.
- Groups and celebrations with everything that was agreed, including deposits.
- Your guest list with visits and notes, as far as you can export it.
- Invoices and statements from Quandoo for your accounts.
- Texts, photos and opening hours from your profile, if that was the only place you kept them.
Save the export as a file in a place only you and your managers can access. Print the reservations for the next four weeks as well. It sounds old-fashioned, but it saves the evening if a login suddenly stops working.
Can you take the guest data with you?
Your guests' details are personal data, and the General Data Protection Regulation continues to apply during the move. Three points matter. First, purpose limitation under Article 5 GDPR: data collected for a reservation may be used for this and future reservations, but not automatically for anything else. Second, storage period: do not move every old record. Guests who have not been in for years do not belong in the new system. Third, the contract with the new vendor: it processes the data on your behalf, and Article 28 GDPR requires a data processing agreement for that.
Whether you alone were the controller of the data in Quandoo, or Quandoo was for parts of it, depends on your contract. We could not check that. Update your privacy policy and name the new vendor there as a recipient.
Advertising is subject to stricter rules than handling a booking. In Austria, advertising by email or text message is only permitted with prior consent under section 174 of the Telecommunications Act 2021. The exception: you received the address yourself from your customer in connection with a sale or service, you advertise similar services of your own, and the guest could and can refuse at any time free of charge. In Germany the same exception is in section 7(3) UWG. A factual message to guests with an open reservation, telling them their reservation still stands, is not advertising. A newsletter to everyone who ever booked through a portal is risky without consent.
This is not legal advice. In Austria the WKO can help, in Germany the IHK and DEHOGA.
How to move without a gap
In a normal switch you run the old and the new system side by side for two to four weeks. Here the old system has already closed. Running in parallel therefore means your saved list and the new system.
- Set up the new system: tables, areas, service times, length of stay and how many guests may arrive per time slot.
- Enter all open reservations from the list, the largest and the nearest first. Then tick them off row by row.
- Name one person who, until the move is finished, enters every phone reservation only in the new system. From now on only what is in the new system counts.
- Open online reservations only once the transferred reservations are in. Otherwise you will double-book tables.
- For one week, compare the list with the new system every evening.
Which links you need to replace
- Website: reserve button, embedded window, contact page, footer.
- Google Business Profile: choose “Edit profile” and, under the transaction type “Booking”, the option “Add link”. If you have several links you can set a preferred one. You remove third-party links via “Booking” and “Remove provider”. According to Google, providers must delete such links within five days of the request.
- Instagram and Facebook: link in the profile and action button.
- Email signature, automatic replies, newsletter templates.
- Printed material: QR codes on menus, flyers and bills.
- Listings with the tourist board, city portal and restaurant guides.
Search in your browser for the name of your restaurant together with the word “reserve”. Whatever appears on the first page is what your guests see too.
How to tell your regulars
Keep it short and practical. Guests want to know where to reserve from now on and that their existing reservation still stands. One sentence on the website, a card on the table, a line in the confirmation email and a word on the phone are enough. Anyone who collected loyalty points with Quandoo should put payout questions to Quandoo itself; the address is above.
What a system of your own costs
Reservation systems charge in two ways: a fixed monthly price or a fee per reserved guest, sometimes both. Portals bring new guests in return. A system on your own website does not.
Worked example: a restaurant with 60 seats has 600 guests a month who reserve online. At a fee of € 1 per guest that is € 600 a month; at a fixed price of € 69 it stays € 69. The euro per guest is an assumption for the calculation, not the price of any particular vendor. Ask for both numbers with every quote.
How this works in EachVisit
EachVisit is a reservation system for your own website. Guests choose time and party size, and a suitable table is assigned automatically. You draw your floor plan, set service times and maximum numbers per time slot, and see the evening as a list or on the floor plan, on a tablet at the front desk too. You enter walk-ins and phone calls yourself. There is also a waiting list with notification.
What EachVisit is not: a portal that brings you new guests, or a till. There is no automatic import from Quandoo. You enter open reservations by hand. The regular Klein plan costs € 69 a month including 80 seats, with extensions available up to 140 seats. Mittel starts at € 129 with unlimited seats and no fee per guest. Commission is 0%; Stripe's own fees apply to online payments. Closed beta pricing is available on request. Regular plan prices are shown for reference; any later paid use requires your active acceptance.
